Will writing is not to be regulated at least in this Parliament.
A recommendation from the Legal Services Board that Will writing should be regulated was rebuffed this week by Chris Gayling Secretary for the Ministry of Justice. He suggested instead more targetted guidance, more voluntary regulation schemes and codes of conduct for non-authorised legal providers.
The Chief Executive of the Law Society expressed concern over ‘incompetent, untrained and uninsured ‘ providers who can continue without regulation.
The news came as a shock to those who felt some form of regulation was required.
